However, it was during the 1920s that rhinestones started to be produced in the manner we recognize them today. This marked a shift towards the manufacturing of imitation gemstones using glass or crystal, which allowed for greater affordability and accessibility in the creation of dazzling and glamorous costume jewelry. These black lattice rhinestone earrings are from the 1930s to 1940s.
