In 1875 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts E.A. Bliss and J.H. Carpenter founded The E.A. Bliss Company, and specialized in producing silverware and other metal products. In 1922, the company expanded into costume jewelry and hired James Napier as their president. Under Napier's guidance, the company shifted its focus to costume jewelry and eventually changed its name to the Napier-Bliss Company. The 1950s to the 1970s marked a period of significant growth for Napier embracing the trends of the time and producing some of their most iconic and collectable pieces.
