Agave Beach Watercolor Painting
Agave Beach Watercolor Painting
The use of watercolors in artwork is nearly impossible to date, as it's a medium that has been employed since primitive times. Artists would grind materials from fruits, vegetables, or clay to create natural pigments. However, in 1780, a man named William Reeves is credited with inventing the modern watercolor palette. He sold dry cakes that could be dampened and used as paint. This watercolor painting is signed on the back by André Nivard (1880 - 1969).
