Founded in 1854, McKee Glass Company was one of the oldest glass makers in the Pittsburgh, PA area. After relocating to Jeannette, PA in the 1930s, it saw some of its most successful years, marked by innovation and craftsmanship. In 1951, McKee became part of the Thatcher Glass Manufacturing Company and later joined Jeannette Glass Company, producing pressed glassware until its closure in 1983. This triangle black amethyst vase, dating back to the 1930s, reflects the pinnacle of McKee's success during its time in Jeannette, PA.
