In 1878, E.A. Bliss and James E. Carpenter founded The E.A. Bliss Company in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, initially specializing in gilt men's watch chains and other metal goods. The company was incorporated as The E.A. Bliss Company in 1882. In 1890, the business relocated to Meriden, Connecticut, where it expanded its operations. James Napier joined the company and became president in 1920, steering its transformation toward costume jewelry. By 1922, the company had rebranded as The Napier Company, reflecting its new focus. These gold shell wave Napier earrings are from the 1960s to 1970s.
