Viking Blue Epic Bud Glass Swung Vase

Established in 1944 after the bankruptcy of New Martinsville Glass, Viking Glass Company became known for its vibrant glass collections in the 1950s, including the production of "swung" vases characterized by their graceful curves. These vases were crafted through a process called "stretch glass," where molten glass is swung, stretched, and manipulated to create the distinctive elongated shapes. Viking Glass Company continued its operations until 1984, with a brief revival through Fostoria in the late 1980s, leaving a mark on the mid-century glass industry. This mid century Viking blue bud swung vase hails from the 1960s.
