Founded in 1944 in New Martinsville, West Virginia, the Viking Glass Company became one of the most influential American mid-century glassmakers, with its Epic line introduced in 1957 quickly establishing itself as the company's signature collection. This rare low bowl form is rendered in Bluenique, Viking's proprietary saturated cobalt leaning blue introduced in 1964, with a wide flared profile marked by the iconic thumbprint optic pattern rising from a sculpted petal foot. Seldom seen on the secondary market and preserved in beautiful condition, this Viking Glass Bluenique Epic sculpted foot low bowl is from the 1960s.
