Red and Green Glass Jeweled Earrings

Fashion jewelry grew in the 18th century, when paste, a leaded glass made to imitate diamonds, made sparkle more accessible. By the 19th century, rhinestones had become a defining feature of costume jewelry, and in 1895 Daniel Swarovski helped elevate glass stones through precision crystal cutting. These red and green glass jeweled earrings are from the 1950s.
