The Fenton Glass Company was founded by the Fenton brothers in 1905, initially operating in Martins Ferry, Ohio where they specialized in decorating objects made by other companies. In 1907, the brothers established their first factory in Williamstown, West Virginia, with the aim of producing their own glass items. Inspired by their deep admiration for Tiffany glass, the Fenton brothers developed their unique version of iridescent glass known as Carnival glass. This Fenton amethyst carnival dish is from the 1970s to 1980s.
