In the 1950s and 1960s, Fenton  introduced a line of vases called "swung" vases, which became quite popular among collectors and enthusiasts of mid-century modern design. The term "swung" refers to the manufacturing process used to create the vases. The glassblower would gather molten glass onto the end of a blowpipe and then swing it back and forth like a pendulum, creating a long, thin shape. Once the desired length was achieved, the glassblower would remove the vase from the blowpipe and attach a base. This fabulous mid century Fenton avocado green swung vase is from the 1960s to 1970s.

Dimensions: height 13 x diameter 2 1/2 inches
