Yves Saint Laurent Silver Spiral Disc Rhinestone Earrings
Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent, born in Algeria, moved to Paris as a teenager with dreams of becoming a fashion designer. After a brief stint at the École de la Chambre Syndicale, he joined the Christian Dior Couture house in 1954. Tragically, Dior's sudden death in 1957 propelled Saint Laurent into the role of Creative Director, making him the world's youngest couturier. Later ousted from Dior, he embarked on building the YSL brand and in 1962, introduced costume jewelry, believing it to be the outfit's defining element. These YSL earrings date back to the 1980s, reflecting his love for simple elegance paired with eccentric accessories.
